Supporting Black and Latina Girls & Femmes in Mentoring & Youth Development For Western Massachusetts Youth Development Organizations
Two Day Workshop: Tuesday, June 17th from 9am - 3pm & Wednesday, June 18th from 9am - 3pm
This powerful, hands-on workshop is designed for staff, mentors, and practitioners working in mentoring and youth development settings who are committed to creating affirming, culturally responsive spaces for Black and Latina girls and femmes.
Over two engaging days, participants will:
• Explore why centering this population is essential to equity and belonging
• Examine the unique challenges Black and Latina girls and femmes face—and how to respond with care
• Reflect on how identity, race, gender, and culture shape mentoring relationships
• Build practical strategies to foster confidence, leadership, and community for the young people you serve
This is an immersive, interactive experience—not a lecture. Be ready to move, reflect, share, and walk away with tools you can apply immediately.
Spaces are limited. Participants must commit to attending both days in full.
Participants that attend both workshop days will receive a training certificate from MMP.
